    Introduction
          A.  King Ahasuerus was ruler of the Persian Empire (486-465 B.C.) and there were
                Israelites in Persia who had been taken captive.
          B.  Hamon, an official of Persia, devised a plan to destroy the Israelites.  Esther 3:8-11,14           
          C.  Through God’s providence Mordecai, a Jew, was an official and his cousin Esther
                was married to the King.
          D.  They were able because of Esther’s position to save the Jews.  Esther 4:1,5-16;
                Esther 5:6-8, 7:1-6
          E.  Hamon was hanged on the gallows he had built to hang Mordecai (Esther 7:10) and
               King Ahasuerus gave Mordecai and Esther gifts and authority (Esther 8:1-2).  Esther
               4:14
          F.  There are needs that we can meet.

      I.  There is a need to teach the gospel of Christ to people who are spiritually lost.

          A..  Making disciples involves four steps.

                 Step one:  Go.  V19

                 Step three:  Baptize those who believe. Mark 16:16: V19

                 Step four:  Continue to teach the new converts.
