“What must I do to be saved?”

The most important question for us to ask ourselves is, “What must I do to be saved?”  Our souls will exist for eternity.  The Bible teaches, “For all have sinned and fall short of
the glory of God” (Romans 3:23), and as a result we deserve an eternal separation from God (Romans 6:23a).

In order to escape this eternal punishment, we must be saved.  To be saved we must:

     1)  Believe that Jesus is the Son of God (Acts 8:37) and that He sacrificed Himself for
          our sins (1 Corinthians 15:1-4).

     2)  Repent (Acts 2:38; Acts 17:30) which is the giving up of one’s stubborn will in
          order to accept God’s will.

     3)  Confess faith in Jesus Christ (Acts 8:36-37).

     4)  Be baptized (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:36-41; Romans 6:3-7).

The Lord adds the saved to His church (Acts 2:47b) and we are to live faithfully for God
(Romans 6:13).  Let us be grateful for His amazing grace (Ephesians 2:8-10) in Christ (2
Timothy 2:1; Romans 6:23b).
