                when he wrote Psalm 55: Vv12-14; Vv1-7

          C.  What does God want us to do when we are distressed?

      I.  God wants us to persevere in the battle.  Vv6-7; James 1:2-3 (891)

           A.  There are people who try to escape.

                 1. physically

                 2. chemically

                 3. ultimately

           B.  There are people who refuse to let others help.  Galatians 6:1-2 (862)

           C.  What is the appropriate decision?  Persevere and use what we have available.

     II.  God wants us to request His help.  Vv22,1,2,16

           A.  Pray to our Heavenly Father on a regular basis.  Vv16-17

           B.  Pray with a sincere heart.  V17; James 1:2-8 (891)

           C.  Pray with confidence.  Vv22,18,19

  Conclusion

           A.  Persevere and pray to our Heavenly Father.
