    Introduction

          A.  We will focus on four features of a strong church.
                1. It isn’t necessary for a church __________________________________________
          B.  The strength of a church is determined by the commitment of the people to God.

      I.  One of the features is that the Bible is taught as the all-sufficient word of God.

          A.  “Inspiration of God” means “God breathed.”  2 Peter 1:20-21 (898)

          B.  The scriptures are profitable for (2 Tim. 3:16) _______________________________

          C.  The word of God (New Testament) teaches salvation through the gospel. 1

    II.  A.   A strong church is a praying church. 

          A.  The early disciples understood the importance of pray.  Acts 2:42 (802)

          B.  We pray to our Heavenly Father through Jesus Christ.  Hebrews 4:14-16 (885)

          C.  We can make requests of God. Philippians 4:6-8 (869)

   III.  A strong church is a Spirit filled church.

          A.  The Holy Spirit dwells in the church (1 Corinthians 3:16-17,p842) and in individual
                Christians. 1 Cor. 6: 19-20

                2.  Helps us to sing.  Ephesians 5:18-19 (866)

                3.  Helps us to be united.  Ephesians 4:3

  IV.  A.  Another feature of a strong church is that the members love one another.

          A.  Agape is unconditional regard for another.  B. “As Jesus loves us”
