    Introduction

          A.  What comes to your mind when you see a hill of ants?  Etc.
          B.  The author of Proverbs 6 tells us that we can learn from ants. V6
          C.  Let’s focus on five lessons that we can learn from ants. Read passage.

     I.  We can learn to be self starters. Vv7-8

          A.  Ants have the initiative to do what is necessary without having an overseer or a
                supervisor.
          B.  As members of the congregational family, we need to be self-starters and do our
                part.

                1.  We have different abilities and gifts. (not supernatural but natural).  Romans 12:4-8
                      USE them.

                2.  We have our responsibilities. Galatians 6:4-5 (862)
                     BE DEPENDABLE.

                3.  We are accountable to God.  Romans 14:12 (839); 2 Corinthians 5:10 (854)
                     BE DELIGENT.

    II.  We can learn the value of team-work from the ants. Vv7-8

          A.  Ants work together to accomplish their tasks.  Examples:
          B.  We need to cooperate in accomplishing God’s work.1 Corinthians 12:13-14,20-27(848
                Together Everyone Achieves More.

   III.  We can learn hard work from the ants.

          A.  Ants:  busy, no time to sleep much, active, prospers. Vv 6-8
          B.  Lazy person: enjoys leisure, sleeps a lot, makes excuses, ends up in poverty.

   IV.  We can learn the importance of preparation from the ants.  V8; Provs. 30:25

          A.  Ants are diligent in the summer to prepare for the winter. V8
          B.  We must be diligent as we prepare for eternity. Mt. 6:19-21(706)

    V.  We can learn the need for perseverance because the ants never give up.
