    Introduction

          A.  God is the author of all good because He is good.  V17a.  Every good gift that we
                have can be traced to our benevolent Heavenly Father.
                1.  Not because we are good but because God is good.

          B.  The sun and moon created by God (17b) provide light for the material world, and
                they are not without change.  For example:

          C.  In contrast God doesn’t change.  V17c

          D.  Our Heavenly Father is always faithful to bless His Children because of His goodness.

      I.  Our Heavenly Father has blessed us in the past.

          A.  He has delivered us from the bondage of satan and sin.  Romans 6:16-23 (833); Col.
                1:12-14 (870)

          B.  Our condition as a result is that we have peace with God.  Romans 5:1-2 (832)

    II.  God blesses us with spiritual blessings in this life.

          A.  Through Christ.  Ephesians 1:3 (863)

                1.  Jesus is “The Bread of Life.”  John 6:26,47-51 (785)

                2.  Jesus is “The Water of Life.”  John 7:37-39

                3.  Jesus is essential for spiritual life.

          B.  God teaches us through His word.  James 1:22,25 (892)

          C.  God directs us also by the Holy Spirit.  Romans 8:14-16 (834)

   III.  Our Heavenly Father will bless us in eternity.  Revelation 21:1-7 (917-918)





  Conclusion

          A.  Review

          B.  God blesses us with everything we need in this life, and He has provided for our
                eternity.  Our Heavenly Father is worthy of our praise and worship.
