PRAISING GOD


    Introduction

          E.  Let’s look at four passages of praise to God in Paul’s letters to Timothy.

      I.  There is a praise to God for salvation in Christ in 1 Timothy 1:15-17 (876)

           A.  Paul gave honor and glory to God for being the Great God He is.  V17

                 1.  Eternal
                 2.  Immortal
                 3.  Invisible
                 4.  The only wise God.

            B.  Paul praised God for his salvation through Christ.  Vv15-16; Colossians 1:
                  12-14 (870)

      II.  There is a praise for the Lord of the church in 1 Timothy 3:16 (877).  See
            Ephesians 1:17-23 (863);

     III.  There is a praise for God’s sovereign majesty and the obedience that is
             due Him in 1 Timothy 6:15-16 (878).  See Mark 13:31-33 (745); Matthew 7:21-23 (708)

     IV.  There is a praise for the faithfulness of the Lord in 2 Timothy 2:11-13 (880).
