                                                    The Holy Spirit In Conversion

     Review:

    Introduction

          A.  The Holy Spirit has a part in conversion in the Christian Dispensation.

                1.  Started on the first Pentecost Feast after the resurrection of Christ.  Acts 2:1-4

                2.  Extends through the Christian Dispensation.  Acts 2:37-39.

  IV.  The Spirit in conversion  

          A.  In accordance with the word of God.  2 Thessalonians 2:13-14 (875); James 1:18 (892);

                1 Peter 1:23 (895); 1 Corinthians 4:15 (843)

          B.  We are born of the Spirit.  John 3:5,6,8 (780)

          C.  We are made alive (spiritually) by the Spirit.  John 6:63 (785)

          D.  We are saved by the Holy Spirit.  Titus 3:5 (882)

          E.  The Spirit frees us from the law of sin and death.

               1.  Law of sin and death.  Genesis 2:16-17 (2); 3:1-7,22-24; Romans 3:23 (831); 6:23

               2.  The Holy Spirit frees us from this law.  Romans 8:1-4

 

          F.  The Spirit washes, sanctifies and justifies us.  1 Corinthians 6:11 (844)

  Closing

         A.  A word of caution!!  The Holy Spirit has a part in the conversion of an individual, but

               He doesn’t dwell in an individual until the individual is saved.  Acts 5:32 (805)
