Summary
I. Questions
A. Peter, Andrew, James and John (Mark 13:3) talked with Jesus as He sat on
the Mount of Olive (Matthew 24:3).
1. Jesus was asked, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the
sign of your coming, and of the end of the age?”
2. The first question, “Tell us, when will these things be?” was about the
destruction of Jerusalem and the temple.
II. Jesus answered in Matthew 24:4-28.
A. He gave them signs leading to the destruction.
B. He instructed them what to do. Luke 21:20-24 (774)
C. Jerusalem and the temple were destroy in 70 A.D.
D. The Jews who believed in Jesus as their Messiah and did what He told them
to do escapsed.
III. Jesus answered the second question, “And what will be the sign of you coming,
and of the end of the age?” in Matthew 24:29-51
A. Jesus said that His return was certain+. Vv32-35
B. No one knows when Jesus will return. Vv36-39. Jesus has instructed us
what to do. Vv42-44 _________________________________.
C. When Jesus returns there will be a judgment. Vv45-51

IV. Jesus presented three parables in response to the question. Chapter 25
A. The Parable Of The Wise and Foolish Virgins (25:1-13) teaches us that we
must be prepared. The five wise virgins (vv 2a,4; the foolish (vv2b,3)
B. The Parable Of The Talents (25:14-30) teaches us that we are accountable
for how we have used what God has given us. 2 Cor. 5:9-10; Rev.10-20.
C. The Parable , the son of man will judge the nations (Matthew 25:31-46)
1. The redeemed will be rewarded (vv34-40) the unredeemed will be punish
(41-46)
Closing: Jesus will return! What can we do? Watch, persevere, Be faithful & ready.
