Introduction
A. Review: 1) Jesus said that our Heavenly Father is glorified
when we bear much fruit. 2) The term ‘fruit’ means
righteousness 3) The term ‘glorify’ means to show forth His
praise
B. Last Sunday we focused on glorifying God with our worship.
I. Our lesson today deals with glorifying God by imitating Jesus.
A. The apostle Paul wrote to the Ephesians and gave them several
responsibilities in becoming like Jesus.
1. Let go of our life before we became a christian. V22;
Ephesians 4:25-32. Involves repentance which is to change
the mind. Luke 13:1-5 (765)
2. Put off the old man (person) and put one the new
person. Ephesians 4:22-24 (865); Romans 6:3-7 (833);

3. Change the way we think. Philippians 4:8-9 (869)
B. How do we get to know Jesus so that we can emulate Him?
1. By reading, studying, learning and meditating about what
God’s word teaches us about Jesus. Matthew 11:28-30
2. We learn about Jesus’s relationship with people and how He
treated people.
3. Three ways (and there are many) in which we can emulate
Jesus.
a. By treating others as we would like to be treated. Matt.
